Scientists presented a way of safe quantum communication between cities

Researchers from the UK invented a way of safe quantum communication between cities, reports Science Daily.

The development belongs to British scientists from the University College London.

Communication will be based on a network that is almost impossible to hack and will connect several quantum devices at the same time.

The system was tested with machine learning and regular output, which allowed to protect secret keys from being intercepted.

According to Dr. Ciaran Lee, quantum computers will destroy the current encryption system, which is based on mathematical assumptions.

Quantum PCs do not work on the basis of assumption, but on the basis of the laws of physics, which guarantees their reliability and safety.

The EU and Great Britain are competing in launching the first large-scale quantum network between cities, which will operate on any quantum device. Specifically for quantum technology research, the EU and the UK allocated €1 billion and £270 million, respectively.
